Before play was started, the USTA Southern staff and volunteers knew the 2018 USTA League Adult 65 & Over Southern Sectional Championships was going to be a challenge. Despite rainy conditions on Hilton Head Island, S.C., play was completed during the first two days of the tournament, Nov. 29-30. The following two days were rained out. Thanks go to many cooperating captains and teams; their finals were played at locations centrally located between the competitors within two weeks.

The Men’s 3.0 final was not played, as the Birmingham, Ala. and the Bluffton, S.C. (B) teams elected to be declared co-champions.

Georgia led the championships with four winners and two finalists. Alabama came in second with two champions and one finalist. The only other state that placed two teams in the finals was Louisiana.
