USTA Southern crowned six champions at the 2018 55 & Over Combo Doubles Southern Sectional Championships, played February 15-17, 2019, in Auburn, AL.
Georgia and Kentucky had two champions while Alabama scored with a champion and a finalist. South Carolina was well represented with three teams in the finals but all came up short.
The weekend event featured 58 men’s and women’s teams with nearly 600 players from nine states competing in three levels. The Yarbrough Tennis Center served as tournament headquarters. Other matches were played at Moore’s Mill Club Fitness Center in Auburn, along with the Grand National Marriott Resort and the Calhoun Tennis Center in Opelika, AL.
Southern Combo 18 & Over and 40 & Over teams will compete March 15-18, 2019 in Mobile, AL. More than 1,500 players are scheduled to play.
