Georgia and Tennessee had two champions and a finalist in the USTA Southern Junior Team Tennis League Southern Section Championships (SJTTL). 

Matches were played Sept. 3-5 at the Rome (Ga.) Tennis Center at Berry College.  

Here are the 2022 champions and finalists:

10s Intermediate

  • Arkansas, Yun Young, over Georgia, Alyson Wooten, 23-22

12s Intermediate

  • Georgia, Gina Woods over Arkansas, Jeannine Wheeler, 26-17

14s Intermediate

  • Georgia, Sam Kennedy/Vedaza Pate over Tennessee, David Speight, 28-17

18s Intermediate

  • Tennessee, Bart Kennedy over Mississippi, Omar Alcaino, 28-13

18s Advanced

  • Tennessee, Derek Stultz, round robin winner, 176-89, over Alabama, Cain Mashego and Kentucky, Tim Dethridge
