Alpharetta, Ga., and Knoxville, Tenn., headline 2023 USTA Southern Mixed Sectionals

Two cities – Alpharetta, Ga., and Knoxville, Tenn. – scored two champions in the 2023 USTA Southern Mixed Doubles Sectional Championships. 

Little Rock, Ark. had two teams in the finals but neither grabbed the victory. Also, the Arkansas capital had another team finish second in its level, which was competing in round-robin play.

Mississippi and Tennessee tied for top state with three teams crowned as champions. Georgia had two champions and a finalist while Louisiana had a winner and two finalists. Arkansas had four finalists, the most of any state.

The tournament was played at the 60-court Mobile (Ala.) Tennis Center Sept. 29-Oct. 1.

The Southern champions will receive a bid to compete in the USTA League National Championships later this year. Click here for the full list.
