Jackson, Miss. Teams Take Two Titles at 2019 USTA Southern Junior Team Tennis Section Championships

Jackson, Miss. won both finals it played in the 2019 USTA Southern Junior Team Tennis (JTT) Section Championships.
Atlanta, the largest USTA community tennis association in the country, had a champion and three finalists; Decatur is inside metro Atlanta. With two champions and six finalists, Georgia finished as the top state in the tournament. Tennessee had two winners and two finalists, with Knoxville having a winner and a runner-up.
This year’s event drew 50 teams and about 400 players from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Matches were played Aug. 9-11 at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Ga. The Rome Floyd Tennis Center was the site of some matches on Friday.
